Data structures in FDM online

Before you'll start working with FDM online – some data should be entered.

Ok, we'll try to explain these data in the order from begin to end, and its purpose.

Studio

Enter an abbreviation from first three symbols.
For example “UNI” – Universal Pictures, or “PAR” – Paramount Pictures

Currency

Enter 2 or 3 characters that define the currency in the country.
Examples: “BB”, “US”, “GBP”.

Country

Here you should select “Currency” (like “BB” or “US”) and “Pay mode” (“Wire transfer” or “Cheque”).

Enter:

  • “Country name” – for example “Barbados”
  • “Default exchange rate” – for example “2.03875”

Note: In the FDM database special table “exchange rates” contains exchange rate data about every month in every country and in every year, that used by FDM online in calculations. And if these data are missed – default exchange rate is used.

Cinema

Select a country, and enter cinema's name (important here).

Some of parameters are used in the next reports:

  • address 1 (2 and 3), phone 1 (and 2), fax, email – are used in the Invoice report
  • seats, screens – are not used now, may be later
  • city – is used in the DGBOS report (see also configuration:city)

Film

Select: “Studio” and “Year”. Enter: “Title”.

Note: In this form you can enter up to 6 film titles at once. This is very useful in bulk.

Terms

Select: “Film”, “Cinema”, and enter terms for every week from 1 to 9, and continuing value, for example, “50”, “50”, “45”, “40”, “35”, “35”, “35”, “35”, “35”, “35”.

How to select a FILM? Very simple, it's our search-based way: type in first letters of the film title, and after you'll see right film title next to the edit box – hit “Tab” key on the keyboard, and the film will be selected.

Box office record

Select a “Film”, “Cinema”, “Week”. Enter the “Note” (if needed), check the “Completed” if you've planning to enter all days and close this record.

“Date” – enter only first date if it's first week, and all other days will populated automatically.

Enter “box office” and “attendance” numbers, for example, “25-Nov-10”, “1025.4”, “449”.

After you'll enter every number – the form calculate “Total box office” and “Total attendance” automatically.

When you've entered all needed data – hit “Save” to save it in the database.

Note: Don't check “complete” checkbox if you've entered several days only, and want to continue it again in the next couple of days.
